The theater tradition between England and France is really. That's why I like them. There's a lot of back and forth to accommodate the various restrictions set up by the English government over the years. Theators got around this licensing act by putting on dramatic scenes that would be like separated by musical interludes. They just do it. And it turns it basically into burlesque and melodrama. It all came from one play called the Golden Rump. This is post Shakespeare making fun of King James.
