Is a Golden Test Really Worth It?

A golden test is another name for a screenshot test. Flutter code runs like a widget test, but it does paint the pixels and writes them to a file. The next time you run the test, it paints the pixels again, and literally does a diff old pixels versus new pixels. And if any of them don't match, it triggers a failure. But there's one really annoying thing about golden tests: they use this font called a ham or a ham which replaces every character of text with a square.
