The Effect of Language Barriers on Under Triage in ED Patients
Study looked at 114,000 ED patients who came over a three year period. 20% of those patients had caregivers and were in families preferring languages other than English. Study: Approximately 3.7% of the English speaking families were under triaged. And we found that approximately 6% of families speaking languages other thanEnglish and Spanish were under triaging.
