The airbus a three 20 was the first commercial airplane that used fly by wire technology. You input your controls to the plane, and those control are fed into a computer. In the computer sense, electrical signals actually activate the control surfaces of the plane. Sonow, whatever you're doing gets interpreted by a computer, and in the computer is what executes the moves that you want to do.
