Philo's Theology of the Bible
Philosopher philo saw the bible as a philosophical text from moses. He went through it line by line, writing commentary and giving an account of what he thought were obvious allegories underneath the surface. Pilo was a pioneer in this field. Some people even think he may be this sole reason that, once christianity became so dominant in the western world, that philosophy could even exist alongside it in a small capacity.
