He learned Portuguese to go to Brazil for the FIFA Soccer World Cup. On his YouTube channels: SmallAdvantages (with 2.7 million subscribers) and TadyGavin he teaches English through his own journey of learning Portuguese and Czech respectively.

I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. I'm absolutely amazed by Gavin's motivation to accomplish so much, on top of running a business and raising children. I feel seriously inspired from this conversation. We discussed how he has gained mastery in Portuguese without ever living in Brazil. He explained how he creates a Brazilian life in Colorado, and even speaks exclusively to his son in Portuguese (both he and his wife are American). How visualization is a powerful tool for him to speak three different foreign languages. Why "I don't have time" is not a real excuse, and what you can do if you are someone who feels like they are always too busy. Gavin told me about the role of passion, dedication, and goals in being successful learning languages and guitar.
