Are You Hungry When You Eat Processed Foods?
The gut cells and the brain cells start as one in the embryo. They kind of break apart as we form but they stay connected through the vagus nervethrough other pathways. When you're eating a food, it can send direct signals through at least four different pathways we know. One of the main pathways is that the bacteria that live in our gut, they actually produce serotonin, the 80% of our serotonin dopamine. So really your mood and your mental state has so much to do with those gut bacteria that are sending signals up to the brain.
