The Nature of Matter

Thales was a Greek philosopher and keen observer of nature in Miletus on what is now the western coast of modern day Turkey. He's considered by some, notably the Greek philosopher Aristotle, to be the first of the Greeks to participate in systematic philosophy. We'll travel over a 2500 year course of human thought that starts with the first recorded expressions of natural phenomena having natural causes. The philosophical preconceptions and biases of the various investigators drive much of the direction of the story.
