What Is the Duality of Passivity and Passivity?
Spinoza says that whatever makes us more active a in life is good for us. He adds to the duality of joyful, active passions and a sad passive passions. The more passive we are, the more likely we are to be reactive or suspicious. This has implications up to the society level where he talks about how it's important to establish political forms whose precepts encourage greater activity but discourage greater passivity.
