It's coming up to two months since shanghai began what was originally announced as a five day lockdown. Residents in at least four of 16 districts told that they were not to leave their front doors, not for food, not for water, not for anything. In be jing, the streets around the central business district are deserted. Roads and parks are being sealed off, and residents are being asked to work from home. The immovable policy is spearing the economic output of china's two biggest cities.
