Jimmy Carter inherited a lot of his problems, right? The world was in the middle of the great inflation. We'd had civil rights unrest and we didn't really have domestic oil or gas industry to speak of. And that really put us on the wrong side as we went through that first oil shock. It turns out he didn't do a lot of things right in the end, so things got worse.
