Is Realism a Moralist?
Realism insists that you can't just think about the world in terms of right and wrong. Sometimes that leads you to do things that are quite robust, says David Frum. And sometimes that leads you "to do things that were quite accommodating," he adds. In both instances it offends people who are what I call moralists,. A moralist is someone who believes that in international relations, it is all reducible to principle.
