Dostoevsky's Deep Reading

I used to devour books. I used to read through hundreds per year. But the growth that was afforded to me by carefully curating, just a handful of really resonant texts and trying to extract as much nourishment from them as possible had a better effect upon me than steaming through many, many books. Of course, we all want to read all of these books. We're lovers of literature. And there's just not enough time, quite frankly. We don't have enough years to live in order to read as much as we want to or asMuch as we should. We just don't live long enough. Now, if the obstacle is lack of time, let us
