A company is planning to farm a million octopuses or octopi I don't know for food. They're solitary and they're used to the dark but are now being forced into communal tanks with light shining on them, then given extremely cold baths. It's like developing teenagers in British private schools through the 19th and 20th centuries only the end goal is slightly different. You wanted to create a tasty dinner rather than the ruling class so yeah it's just but you know I guess learned behavior.
