The Importance of Getting Too Creative and Too Optimized
There was a service that was fairly important and the data tools stack that we worked with. After a year or two, there was one person left on the team who still knew the language that the service was written in. So this engineer came to me and they were like, hey, by the way, I need some time in the roadmap of the next month or so, because the service is having some issues. And I was like, well, that's not good for the team. Sometimes getting too creative or too optimized can invite you later, for sure.
