The Problem With the Augustinian Radicals
Augustinian radicals have a kind of monism of grace so the only true good is the supernatural good, he says. There aren't really any natural goods that you should be seeking or trying to achieve and there's no subordination of one to the other yeah. The state would tend to become an idol if it were involved in the supernatural end according to some Augustinian thinkers. He also points out how many catholic monarchs obstructed the church during the age of christendom.
