Sky Hooks, Space Launch Stations, Orbital Plates, and Cloud Cities

Floating cities are structures that hang in the air via buoyancy or aero dynamic lift, as opposed to anti gravity approaches such as orbital plates. These might be individual homes, cities, floating space launch facilities, like the dark sky station, or even continent sized affairs on worlds like venus. Materials able to hold hydrogen or helium better than modern materials, such as grafting, may make these options vastly more economic and safe. One example is the cloud nine sphere, which takes advantage of how geodesic shapes grow stronger as they get bigger with large buoyant balloons.
