If it's from another language, get many different translations. Each one will be different, will feel different. I if this is a deep book, like the gita, like the koran, like the bible, or like the daude, ching get a few different translations. They'll each feel different. Even like the iliad, for example. The two translators very, very, very different. It's actually nice to read both, because i get the direct meaning. And it's nice sometimes, just for important words, you can find the original word the original language.
