Eight months before the 9/11 attacks, former senator garry harte and the republican warren rudman published the final results of a two and a half year official investigation into national security threats. The commission had taken evidence from over a hundred witnesses in 20 different countries,. It was built as the most exhaustive review of us. National security since world war two. On the commission were some of the best defense and foreign policy experts in the country. And their conclusion was stark: Americans will die on american soil, possibly in large numbers.
