In 2010, Congress changed one of the rules that applies to IRAs and Roth conversions. A typical doc can't contribute directly to a Roth IRA because they make too much money. So you have to contribute indirectly through what we call the backdoor Roth IRA process. The conversion is reported on form 8606 which is just a form you included to tax return each year.
