On this week's podcast I discuss the arc of my learning in cinematography and how many mistakes I made along the way.
It has been a journey of finding the path with least resistance and then following that path until I realize (sometimes years later) that I wasn't paying attention to the thing that actually mattered and that moved the needle.
There is a reason everyone starts by focusing on gear (or lack there of), then goes on to lighting, and if you stick around long enough I think we all eventually will land on blocking and framing.
Enjoy!
This week over on the Patreon video we take a look at a commercial I recently shot where we were stretched in all departments. Low on crew, low on equipment and low on time.
Jobs that push you in one of these areas are always interesting but jobs that push you on all three at the same time are pretty unique. All of the solutions and tricks I would normally use are out the window and we have to start with what we can do rather than what we want to do.
The job breakdowns are now exclusively over on Patreon these days so if you liked those episodes of the podcast you will like them even more in video format.
