Do You Remember Your Grandmother?
My grandmother, Betty Davis eyes sort of like an attitude like Humphrey Bogart, but she was tough. I never spoke social to a white person until I was a freshman in college. It's one of the reasons I'm in the business because my grandmother just designated me as the family storyteller. She forced me to reiterate what was happening in the family. Or if I went to church, you know, I had to go to church on Sundays to get my allowance. If I didn't go, I didn't get 25 cents.
