Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
When something really bad happened in the war, no one talked. No one just said a word or was poor Charlie. You were alone with what you felt heard. We had guys that were so messed up because of what they did or what they didn't do. Some tried to get out so they shot themselves in the foot. They would pull the pin on the hand grenade. But it was a way of getting out or they wouldn't take their malaria pills hoping they'd get malaria and be too sick. That was the way we dealt with it. It's not disorder. It's a normal reaction to what you see... A shame wound on your soul.
