The Dark Enlightenment and Machiavelli

Yarvan claims that the only reason for a government to exist is to ensure peace, order, and security. Yarvan has no different view of human nature or human teleology than progressives. The dark enlightenment is all in with Machiavelli's rejection of virtue as having any relevance to governance. They don't even have utilitarian morality, although they generally view the world through utilitarian lengths.
