The History of the APL Compiler
The scalar function compiler was the first evidence that I saw of a JIT compilation specifically in a for APL technology. Anytime we rewrote or redesigned an APL primitive, we tended to include appropriate code because it made it go fast. The Sharp APL which which which was APL plus back before they moved to APL too. But let me talk a bit about APL compilers. If you look at my master's thesis, if you go which is at snake Island dot com slash m s dot PDF. And one of the things I discuss in there is other work on APLCompilers.
