The Nature Trick and the Nature Trick - Climate Gate
Climate gate was the hacking of emails from climate scientist Phil Jones' computer. The emails contained phrases such as 'hide the decline' and 'the nature trick' These phrases were misused to try to con people into thinking that there was some sort of scandal going on, Peter says. It wasn't necessarily the sole reason that the Copenhagen meeting in 2009 failed, but it certainly helped to undermine the mood at that meeting. "The urgency of tackling this problem is so great that we can't afford to waste time in setbacks," he adds.
