The First Marine Aces on Guadalcanal

The first marines on Guadalcanal flying so intensely must have had the greatest number of ACEs. There was no real concentration of aces there were a lot of aces but they were relatively few that lost during that period. Joe Foss became the highest scoring of all the Marine aces he was shot down and came back. He only had 11 victories but in a very short time and he was hampered by all these other things if he been allowed to fly as a fighter pilot through that whole time he would probably have been the highest scoring green ace of all time.
