If you facilitate the social connections, you'll automatically be the center of attention anyway. The trick I learned to be a great active listener and also be high energy is my goal in listening is to find something out about this person. And then that way your high energy will be turned into accomplishing that goal instead of trying to tell the girl how amazing you are or whatever. That gives her attention as well. So she'll feel like, wow, this guy's high energy, but he did listen to me. This was a conversation, not a monologue for this dude.
