Workers generally migrate away from farm work into other areas. Back in two thousand six, working the celery field paid about eight dollars and 70 cents an hour. Now it pays more than 21 dollars an hour. We've shifted away from the most labor intensive crops. So things like vine ripe tomatoes we no longer grow any more.
