The US Wants to Cultivate China as a Potential Peacemaker
There are people who don't want to see peace yet because they want to see Russia evicted from all of the territory. Meanwhile, Jake Sullivan is secretly meeting with Chinese. And that's part of a general thought in US China relations which was obviously stalled by the spy balloon and delay things. That has to be also in part directed at welcoming China in as a potential peacemaker or co peacemaker.
