The Quasi-Monastic Tradition of the Prophets and the Prophet Elijah

There was a separation from society, and this is different from the law. This vow of the Nazarite, for instance, is something that was chosen. Somebody chosen to voluntarily to dedicate themselves to God. So there's already this tradition there, kind of bubbling and waiting to be harnessed by Christians who would later want to dedicate their lives to living in the desert.
