The Importance of Membership in Western Churches

The way Jesus set it up for him to be followed is for us to do that with other people and the way we are. To know that we're following him is other people confirming that in their witness about our lives. That's the very certainty that is so often either missing or mistaken. We feel good about ourselves subjectively Interiorly individually and therefore ignore other people. And I think that's the kind of hard word that we need to be willing to hear from each other in our subjective age.
