The Importance of the Arts in Understanding the Bible
Wendell Berry has influenced me a lot first in his novels and then some in his poetry as well. It has been the discovery that words do not have meanings, but that combinations of words do things. So to let the text or any piece of artistry do its own work rather than imposing something on it is very difficult, I think.
