President Hindenburg was frustrated that essay ban did not apply to paramilitary groups on the left, who he saw as real enemies of Germany. All these frustrations would result in Bruning being removed from his position as Chancellor on May 30, 1932. During the interim a new cabinet would be created under the leadership of Juan Franz von Poppen. After brooding was dismissed, Poppen's close relationship with Sliker and the President would allow him to be named Chancellor of Germany on June 1. Next episode we will examine in more detail the curious case of Franz Von Poppen and discuss his time as Chancellor of Germany.
