How to Plan a Study
A lot of times the cluster data is something that people are not able to avoid when you're collecting the data. Getting those research questions aligned at the beginning is probably the guiding principle if you're going to use multi-level questions or multi-level models. Make sure you collect the stuff you need on the back end to make sure that you can address those questions and fend off things about endogeneity did you include all the variables at that level?
