What Is the Exciting Experiment?
The current theory that we have to describe all these fundamental particles is actually manifestly not very good. This may be a signal that there is an additional interaction out there because it's causing the muon to behave in a slightly strange way. People are getting excited because perhaps it's the first hint of us seeing new particles or new interactions.
