In the day before Roe v. Wade, it was possible to get an abortion in Chicago for anywhere between $500 and $1,000. The experience would vary greatly based on how much money you had in your pocket. This is where Eleanor and her friends thought they could make a difference. They wanted to up their involvement by providing women with illegal abortions.
