The U.S. Dollar Is the World's Global Reserve Currency

The U.S. dollar is still the world's global reserve currency for one reason and one reason only, which is there is no viable alternative. I predict in 2018 that Russia and China will jointly work to assert a sovereign digital currency designed to compete with and eventually replace the US dollar. That's just China and Russia talking about digital currency, blow and smoke. Who cares? I think we should all care a whole lot. If there is a way to replace the U.s. dollar as a global reserve currency, the only way I can see to do it is with a digital currency that can use software engineering rather than financial engineering.
