Why I Learn English, Not Grammar Lessons
The reason i learn english is so sore because it was part of my identity. I wanted to read the book of jane austen in the language that she wrote it. That don motivations that move us to learn languages. It was never, i can put it on a rest of me, i'm going to win a trophy. But i understand also where people born here are born into this capitalistic and dehumanizing way of seeing things. And thus that's where i want teachers, specially white teachers, to reflect and say, am i using language as a tool of oppression in my classroom? Or am i using the teach of languages as atool of liberation?
