What's the Problem With Buprenorphine?

Buprenorphine is a partial agonist at the opioid receptor. So it's like a car going very comfortable 60 miles an hour. But when you give them buprenorphine, it kicks all of the opioids off the receptor. And that feels like you're slamming on the brakes and that's precipitated withdrawal. I will say I have accidentally put people to precipitated withdrawal before from starting bu prenorphine. It's still not like happening every time we start buprenmorphine. But it is horrible. Like people feel like complete trash. They can barely move. They feel so terrible. We should be trying to avoid it if we can and help people
