The Importance of Peace
In 1940, Princess Elizabeth makes her first global broadcast on the BBC. Her father later reflected that he couldn't believe his daughter had married the first man she'd ever met. A few months later Prince Philip is called up when the war breaks out. The royal family choose to remain at Buckingham Palace despite the risk of Nazi bombing raids.
