There was a period between 2003 and 2010 when funding was adequate for all the things, not just in London, but also in the region. Both sectors are reliant on an education system that allows secondary school students to know what's going on. What it boils down to is when I was at the National Theatre, we had enough money, now there isn't enough money. Less money means less product. Less work flowing into the commercial sector means less revenue out at the other end. It's Leveling Down. This we're dealing with less than 0.1% of the total public spending part.
