The DeVos Family and the Trump Administration
In 1959, Rich DeVos started the company Amway as a tiny little soap business. He and his partner would soon grow the company into a multi-billion dollar conglomerate that relied on independent distributors to sell its products. In 1975, the FTC accused Amway of being a pyramid scheme. After a lengthy four-year investigation, the FTC found that Amway was in fact not a pyramid scheme by the skin of their teeth.
