The things we do and the things we believe become part of our identity. And particularly when that's the case, it becomes very hard for us to walk away from things. We all share the intuition that when the world tells us something that we believe isn't true, it tells us that the path we're on is not one we should be following. If we're running a marathon and we break our life, we're not going to keep going. It's such an opportunity to put your values at play ahead of time.
I recently sat down for a live event and Q&A with the great Annie Duke to discuss her new book, Quit: The power of knowing when to walk away. This episode is the audio from that event. Quit is all about how to develop a very particular skill: how to train your brain to make it easier to know which goals and plans are worth sticking to and which are not.
