Is There a Limit in the Franchise Model?
The whole business is built on expanding out hits, creating universes. We just had two misfires in the movie Superhero franchise genre of franchises. And I'm not prepared to say that the franchise model is troubled because audiences have proven over and over again that they will show up for things that they know. But there may be a limit and that's the question I want to pose: Is there a limit in the franchise of occasion of entertainment? Where is that limit?
