Tara's mam enrolled her in a catholic school when she was nine years old. Her mother tried to induce an abortion, but melony didn't want to cause a miscarriage so she carried the pregnancy to term. At 16, Melony arranged for Tara to have an abortion at a local clinic. Tora recalls being "numbed" and having no idea what to expect. The doctor who performed ta's abortion has not returned calls from iReporter.

With the end of Roe v. Wade, Louisiana has become one of the most difficult places in the United States to get an abortion. The barriers are expected to disproportionately affect Black women, the largest group to get abortions in the state.
