Ricky Martin: Small caps are not the number of slices on a pie chart. He says they're companies that are eight billion dollars and below. An eight billion dollar company barely moves the needle for the s m p 500, he says. But you need to be careful about taking too much in the way of rules like small cap means this, Martin writes.
