The Poisonous Nature of Race-Based Affirmative Action

There's not just one rationale for race-based and sex-based affirmative action. There's also the diversity argument, which often morphs into a representation argument. We need to keep those two categories separate, I think, when we think about them. The example I gave was one that's really based on representation, not on diversity.
