In 1979, George Raybacher and his wife invented a board game about being a farmer. They had no idea how to make it; they spent hours working out the mechanism of the game. The game works like Monopoly: You start with $5,000 in debt but eventually have to either pay up or declare bankruptcy. It's also the story of their lives as farmers around the country were sounding the alarm about a coming agriculture crisis.
