The federal government has worked with provinces and municipalities to set up hotels in different places for asylum seekers. The Red Cross provides emergency shelter, but doesn't directly run those shelters. Former embassy official: I've always had a problem with the way this government applies immigration to get their most quote unquote desirable people.
